Resources
Under the leadership of Anat Shenker-Osorio, communications consultant, this project has produced several valuable resources for members of the community:
"What We'll Buy About the Economy: How Common Simplifying Models Help and Hinder the Case for Economic Policies", an analysis of our language about the economy, with recommendations for ensuring our messaging lines up with and reinforces our desired aims.
"Getting the Story Straight: An Outline for Conveying What Caused the Crisis", a summary of existing research and analysis from leading progressive economists on the factors that precipitated the current recession.
"From What to How: Framing the Economic Situation from a Progressive Perspective", a guide to how we describe what caused the economic crisis in terms that promote the solutions we believe will ameliorate the damage done.
Two "cheat sheets" one on words and ideas to avoid and the other on messaging to embrace in talking about the economic crisis.

Welcome to the Progressive Ideas Network!

Ideas hold the unique potential to help unify and empower today's progressive movement, bringing together our leaders, grassroots advocates, communications networks, and supporters around our shared values.
The Progressive Ideas Network is an alliance of the country’s leading think tanks and activist organizations, working together to amplify the power of ideas in advancing today’s progressive movement. We gather to look beyond the short-term interests of our individual institutions to envision how, together, we can work more effectively on behalf of our common goals.
