Collaborations

The Progressive Ideas Network provides financial and logistical support to collaborations among its members. After meeting to analyze the strategic landscape and develop project ideas, the members themselves choose which collaborations PIN will support.

In 2009, PIN members elected to support four collective actions; three additional projects continue with other resources, and a fifth PIN project was added outside of the group process:

  • Corporate Governance

    A policy and political strategy development project around advancing new ideas in corporate governance reform.

  • Messaging Inequality

    An analysis of the language of economic inequality in our public discourse, with both tactical messaging and strategic policy implications.

  • Crisis Tracker

    A project to perform and popularize ongoing analysis of the key components of the current economic crisis: job loss, home foreclosures, and the cost to taxpayers of bailing out failed financial institutions.

  • Community Organizing

    A project to establish and elevate the strategic importance of community organizing and community-based organizations within the “progressive ecosystem” and in efforts to build statewide power.

  • Progressive Goals

    An overview and analysis of the kinds of goals, and the political thinking behind them, that a range of progressive organizations are working toward.
